$51.32 million to the ATE program in fiscal year (FY) 2008.

The National Science Foundation requested $51.62 million for FY 2009.

Partnerships with business, industry, and education institutions added about
$9.5 million in
in-kind support and
$7 million in monetary support to ATE initiatives in 2007.

educational materials—courses, modules, or activities—were developed by 57 ATE programs

during 2007.

people took at least one course in an ATE-funded program during 2007, according to data

gathered by the 53 ATE initiatives that focused on program improvement.

Of the ATE programs that tracked the gender and ethnicity of participants in 2007,
37% of their
students were women,
16% were Hispanic, 15% were African American, 8% were Asian, and
6%
were Multiracial.
